Yorkshire’s full of surprises and here’s another…. cable waterskiing in Sheffield. Cable waterskiing is the latest extreme sport craze and the picturesque Rother Valley Country Park is home to a lake boasting sorts of obstacles, as well as a Total Wipeout-style Aqua Park.
“We’ve known the guys from Sheffield Cable Waterski for a while now – and love their passion for promoting the sport, as well as their ability to offer a great day out. The new Aqua Park is tonnes of fun too.”James & Lyndsey, Yorkshire's Best Adventures
What Sheffield Cable Waterski say:
Set in the Rother Valley Country Park, we’re the largest wake park in the North of England and offer a full size cable that can have up to eight people riding at any one time.
Large enough to host groups of up to 50 people on the water, we also have our new Total Wipeout-style Aqua Park, meaning we’re a great day out whether you’re on your own, with a small group of friends, on a stag or hen do, or looking for a corporate team building experience.
Experienced riders will love our extensive cable wake park stocked with kickers, wedges, sliders, funboxes, rooftop rail and wall ride – but people new to the sport shouldn’t be put off. We also offer taster and learning sessions to get you up to speed.
Adventurous 8- to 12-year-olds will also love it here. Our Junior Riders Sessions mean they can experience kneeboarding, waterskiing or wakeboarding at a slower speed. Sessions run on a Saturday morning 9-11 am and during the school holidays, Tuesday and Thursday 10am-noon.
Don’t fancy taking part? Come by and have a drink at our licensed bar overlooking the lake. We have a cafe serving hot and cold snacks and drinks and an on site wakeboard pro shop selling wakeboards and equipment.
If you’re looking to see how those at the very top do it, stop by for our monthly competition Ten Feet High Series – a great spectacle to come down and watch if you want to see what cable wakeboarding is all about and watch some of the UK’s best riders.
