Take in a brewery tour of York and its surrounds with the fabulous outings led by Mark Stredwick of Brewtown Tours, one of Yorkshire’s stellar new openings in 2017
“If you want to organise the proverbial session in a microbrewery, then head to the Vale of York, home to a burgeoning scene of specialist brewers creating some amazing craft ales. Of course you don’t want to be designated driver around this lovely part of the country, which is where Mark Stredwick of the newly opened Brewtown Tours steps in. Starting at York train station, each tour visits three microbreweries in the area – and at each brewery there are informative talks, demonstrations and, of course, tastings. The breweries also offer cellar door sales, so you can stock up on the ones that tickle your fancy. Along the way, Mark’s relaxed attitude and attention to detail make these tours run as smoothly as some of the beers on offer.”James, Yorkshire's Best Adventures

Brewtown founder Mark Stredwick knows a thing or two about good beer. An avid ale enthusiast since his first (legal) sip way back when, his passion for exploring the ins and outs of the beer world was kindled when he left the UK to travel the world.
After his 16 years overseas – which included a 2-month craft beer tour of north western America, a stint as a tour guide with brewery tour company Dave’s brewery Tours in Sydney, Australia – Mark moved back to his home county of Yorkshire. Looking into the local beer scene on his return, he was bowled over by the number of microbreweries in the area and the quality and variety of beer styles they were producing.
That immense knowledge – and thirst – for all things beer led to the creation of Brewtown Tours in early 2017, and the company now offers yours in York, Leeds and Malton.
